Dental gels are an oral cleaning option used to help with the management of pet dental hygiene. Dental gels should be used on a daily basis for best results. Since not all pets tolerate dental brushing, the use of dental gel is a great alternative!
Most dental gels contain antimicrobial enzymatic ingredients that help reduce gingival inflammation and plaque. Common flavoring agents such as cinnamon and clove are tolerated by most pets and help deodorize their breath and often help with the relief of pain.
How to use:
Apply 1-2 drops on the tip of your index finger. Start with your pet’s front teeth, rub each tooth gently, working toward the back teeth, focusing on the area where the tooth and gums meet. This should be done for all 4 quadrants of your pets’ mouth (top and bottom, left and ride side). A natural cleansing action will help distribute the product to the more difficult to reach areas of your pet’s mouth.
As an alternative to toothpaste, the gel can also be applied to your pet’s toothbrush. For more information on brushing your pet’s teeth, please visit http://cahospital.ca/general/how-to-brush-your-pets-teeth/.
