Frequently Asked Questions
What type of veterinary care will my pet receive?
We strive at providing both preventative medicine and disease treatment in a compassionate and thorough way, which was Dr. Theoret’s goal and fulfilled dream by opening Centrepointe Animal Hospital. Celebrating the bonds that people share with their pets is what unites the Centrepointe team and being able to keep pets happy and healthy is something that we take great pride in.
What can I expect at the appointment?
We will weight your pet at every visit and chart it electronically. We will allow a minimum of 30 minutes for the appointment (depending on the severity of the appointment). The doctor will spend the majority of the appointment with you to ensure a thorough head to toe exam is performed. Treatments and/or preventative care will then be clearly discussed.
Can I have extra services for my pet (nail trimming, anal gland expression, ear cleaning, microchip, etc) at your hospital?
We do offer these additional services to our clients/patients that are up to date on their preventative care. Therefore, we do ask that you schedule an appointment and bring all your paperwork to ensure that your pet’s vaccine status is up to date. If not, we are happy to give the required vaccine to ensure that you pet stays healthy.
Can I always be seen during an evening appointment or if I have an emergency with my pet?
Our clients appreciate to see the same veterinarian every time to ensure consistency in care. However, being a solo veterinary practice, it is not always feasible for the doctor to see every patient during an evening appointment in a timely manner, as they are very popular appointment times and tend to book up a couple of weeks in advance. We allow a few appointments during the day to provide care to our clients who have emergencies with their pet. However, those can also fill up throughout the day, which is why we might have to offer some our clients to go to the closest emergency hospital based on the severity of the pet’s condition.
Can I have an estimate over the phone for a procedure aside from spay and neuter surgeries?
Unfortunately no since the estimates is depending on the findings during the full examination and based on what additional testing might be required prior to going under anesthesia. We strive to provide individualized care which results in personalized estimates based on the pet’s needs.
What speciality service does Dr. Theoret offer?
Dr. Theoret has completed a specialty in surgery. However, depending on the surgery being required and the equipment needed, we might have to refer you to a larger hospital in Ottawa where they will be able to provide you with the service required.
We invite you to contact us if you require any additional information or if you have any questions.
